Elite Model Look – Mumbai Audition



Max, country’s largest fashion brand and Elite, global talent management company, are back with the 5th edition of ‘Elite Model Look India 2018’, one of the most sought-after & prestigious contest in the world. A change to gain global popularity, prominence and prestige. The contest is a lifetime opportunity for thousands of boys and girls to become the next International Super Model and reach great heights like Cindy Crawford, Stephanie Seymour, Gisele Bundchen, Sigrid Agren and Constance Jablonski.

 The contest which will tour 04 cities – Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad and Bangalore this year, kick-started with its preliminary Regional Casting round in Mumbai. Mumbai Regional Casting took place at Infiniti Mall, Malad West, Mumbai on Saturday, 25th August 2018. The esteemed panel of jury included SIMRAN KAUR MUNDI – Actor & Model, PIA TRIVEDI – Actor & Model, GAVIN MIGUEL – Couturier & Designer, MARC ROBINSON – Licensee – Elite Model Look India and SHITAL MEHTA – Executive Director, Max Fashion.

At the end of the casting, 04 Girls and 06 Boys saw their dreams come true as they were selected for the next stage, Elite Model Look National Casting that will take place in Mumbai in September. Contestants were shortlisted from hundreds of hopeful contenders based on criteria like their ramp walk, first impression and photogenic appeal. The lucky contestants chosen from Mumbai auditions are –

Girls – Amrita Ganesh, Bhagyashri Borse, Kyara Koelho and Saloni Borate.

 Boys – Mohit Pandey, Mohit Teckwani, Pranjal Gogoi, Prateek Singh, Sajid Shaikh and Yash Patkar.

 These contestants will compete in the final selection round in National Casting along with contestants shortlisted from Delhi, Hyderabad and Bangalore. At the end of the National Casting, the Elite Model Look jury will choose contestants to participate in India Final that will take place in Mumbai in the month of October 2018. Stars hit Red Carpert in Style!

While the year is coming to an end, the season of Bollywood awards has kick started! Season’s first award function, Star Screen Awards 2017 took place in Mumbai on Sunday, 3rd December. The star-studded event was attended by who’s who of Bollywood with many raising the temperature with their style quotient. Seen at the glamourous evening were Madhuri Dixit Nene, Tiger Shroff, Vidya Balan, Neha Dhupia, Irrfan Khan amongst others.

While Salman Khan, Kriti Sanon and Varun Dhawan rocked the stage with their performances, the show was hosted by Bhumi Pednekar. Other celebs who graced the red carpet include Madhuri Dixit, Tiger Shroff, Irrfan Khan, Neha Dhupia, Taapsee Pannu, Rajkummar Rao, Subhash Ghai, Urvashi Rautela, Deepak Dobriyal, Harshvardhan Kapoor and many more.

Big winner at the event was movie Dangal which received 5 awards including Best Director, Best Music Director, Best Editing, Best Lyrics and Best Background Score. Vidya Balan bagged the Best Actress Award (Critics) for Tumhari Sulu and Rajkummar Rao was named the Best Actor (Critics) for Newton. Along with this, he also won the Best Supporting Actor award for Bareilly Ki Barfi. Konkana Sen Sharma, on the other hand, won the Best Actress award in the popular category for Lipstick Under My Burkha and Irrfan Khan bagged the Best Actor award in the same category. The show will be aired on Star Plus on December 31.

Celebrating Beshumaar Pyaar with Star Parivaar

The grand night of Indian television, Star Parivaar Awards is back, and this time, it celebrates theme ‘Beshumaar Pyaar’, the romance that lies in the heart of all the Star Plus. It was an evening high on glitz, glamour and entertainment that took place in Mumbai over this weekend. The younger generation of Star Plus’ actors were dressed in their best outfits and looked absolutely stunning as they walked the Red Carpet. The parivaar debutants Anika, Nandni, Naira, Karthik, Omkara made their presence felt with their style, swag and young energy along with the other popular actors like Ishita, Raman, Gopi and more.

Hosts Raghav and Raman kept the audience in splits with their engaging sense of humour and witty punch lines. The opening act showcased Karthik and Naira who performed on a heliosphere, with acrobat dancers. Jubin Nautiyal mesmerized the audience with his melodious voice accompanied by an equally soulful performance of Shivaay and Anika who performed a dream sequence with chandeliers, portraying the magic of love. Gauri and Omkara performed a stupefying under-water act that looked absolutely inconceivable.

A duet performance between Chandra Nandni actors and Aarambh actors saw chariots flying through mid-air. Shagun, Bharti, Gopi and Sita performed a musical drama, showcasing the meaning of true beauty. The energetic dance marathon between Terence, Sanjeeda, Sanaya and Deepika left the crowd cheering for more. The highlight of the evening was finale act that saw Naina and Ishita coming together to portray two opposite elements– Fire & Ice in an hi octane number.

Max Fashion, the country’s largest international fashion brand, recently launched Max Emerging Star. Max Emerging star is a property specifically targeted to enable aspirants’ dreams of getting their foothold in the Bollywood, entertainment and glamour industry. The Grand finale happened at a fashionable evening at the High Street Phoenix, South Mumbai on the 19th of April.

This year, the competition took place in Vadodara, Vishakhapatnam, Bhubaneswar and Lucknow and the response was phenomenal with a total of more than 5000 entries.

Max Emerging Star 2017 is associated with eminent stars from Bollywood namely, acting Legend Anupam Kher and India’s favourite Dance Guru Terence Lewis, alongwith actor and supermodel Marc Robinson providing the perfect platform for contestants to gain their foothold in the Bollywood and entertainment industry. Additionally as part of the jury panel was Max’s Executive Director Mr. Vasanth Kumar.

The Contestants were evaluated based on their acting, dancing along with their fashion quotient.

Dadasaheb Phalke Award for Excellence

The prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Awards 2017 was an evening of glitz and glamour with a galaxy of stars from Bollywood, Indian television and music fraternity walking down the red carpet. Organized at St. Andrew’s in Bandra, Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Awards 2017 recognized some of the best performances and talents of 2016. Anchored by the very entertaining Karan Wahi, the evening witnessed live performances by Sara Khan, Raju Srivastav, Comedian V.I.P amongst others. Directed by Harsh Mehta and organized by the team of DSFFA including actress and producer Poonam Jhawer, Poojashree Jhawer, Puneet Khare, Ravikala Pandey, Gyaan ji; this year the Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Awards 2017 associated with Smile Foundation, the National level development organization as the charity partner to support the cause of gender education through Smile Foundation’s campaign – SHE CAN FLY. Smile Foundation kids also performed for the audience to spread awareness on the campaign.
The glittering evening kick-started with the lamp lightening ceremony which was followed by the announcement of winners in different categories. Actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who won the award for the best actress female for her stellar performance in the film Sarabjit added the dazzle to the evening with her presence. Actress Hema Malini who won the Award in the category of Kala Shree looked like a dream in a beautiful Sari. Salman Khan launches THE HIT GIRL


Om Books International along with Taj Lands End, Mumbai, celebrated the launch of Asha Parekh: The Hit Girl, An Autobiography with Khalid Mohamed. The stunningly produced autobiography was launched by Chief Guest and Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, who has written the Foreword to the book.

Present on the occasion were two of Asha Parekh’s closest friend from the industry–Waheeda Rehman and Helen, and some of her finest co-actors and heroes—Dharmendra, Jeetendra. Among those present to grace the occasion were Imran Khan, Richa Chadha, Jackie Shroff, Aruna Irani along with Anandji(Kalyanji-Anandji) & Pyarelalji(Laxmikant-Pyarelal)

An interesting discussion on the book with Chief Guest Salman Khan, co-authors Asha Parekh and Khalid Mohamed, and Publisher, Ajay Mago, was moderated by Dipa Chaudhuri, Chief Editor, Om Books International.
